Vanishing
village
Once upon a time, in
the year 1565, the first settlement in the New World was built by the Spanish.
Then, many years later, the English also endeavored to try this great task.
They then sailed across the Sea of Darkness to a place in the New World called
Roanoke Island, which is off the coast of what is now North Carolina. They used
most of their supplies they brought, so they hastily sent for their governor
John White to bring help from their home country to resolve their problem. John
White finally arrived at the colony, but what he found was much unexpected. The
entire colony had mysteriously vanished! The only clue to their whereabouts was
in the appalling scribbles on a tree trunk. It read Croatan. He probably looked for there for them, but they were
nowhere to be found. Even to this day, no one knows what to presume about this
Vanishing Village.
